Most Common Causes of Sewage Backup Problems in NY and CT

Common Causes of Sewage Backup Problems
  • Flooding of Westchester Sewers – During heavy rain, sewer lines fill quickly and cannot efficiently. This leads to a sewage backup, causing water to flow back through your toilets or floor drains and into your home or office.
  • Drain Defects – Issues within your drainage line such as broken pipes, cracks, collapsed pipes, sewer line sags, or misaligned pipes can cause sewage backups.
  • Toilets/Sinks– The most common cause of sewage backups in homes & offices are items found in the drains of sinks and toilets. Accumulations of hair, dirt, or toilet paper cause blockages.
  • Tree Roots – Tree roots can penetrate the service pipe at the weakest point through a cracked joint and migrate through the pipe, clogging the flow of sewage water as it travels.

Sewage Backups can cause very dangerous situations. That’s why it’s important to call First Response Restoration ASAP for help when you need our services in Westchester County, NY, or Fairfield County, CT. Airborne viruses and bacteria can not only be harmful to your home or office, but they can put your health at risk. Let our Sewage Cleanup Experts return your property to pre-loss condition ASAP.
