The customer called First Response as soon as they received their claim number from their insurance company. In this situation we were battling against 3 days of torrential rain, and it was crucial to get a tarp on the roof to protect the structure from additional water damage. Once the tarp was on we would be able to start evaluating the water damage and fire damage within the home. The First Response Project Manager Vinnie walked the customer through the process of remediating a fire damaged home. Multiple crews came in and began removing items that couldn’t be salvaged. Floors, ceilings, walls and insulation were removed due to water and smoke damage. When the crew finished, the customer was relieved that they could now begin the process of repairing their once beautiful home.

The Project Manager for First Response took moisture readings to get an idea of how far the water seeped into the walls. The scope of work was explained to the customer and their insurance company gave the go ahead to start the process of demolition. A temporary storage container was brought in so the crew could empty the contents of the basement. Once emptied, the damaged areas of the basement walls were cut out and fans and dehumidifiers installed to control the moisture in the air.

First Response immediately dispatched an emergency cleanup crew to start removing the standing water in this finished basement. Our technicians arrived met with the homeowner and started extracting water asap! First Response project manager, Rob, helped the homeowner file the insurance claim and went over the game plan with them. They were extremely pleased with our prompt response and professionalism.

Rob our Project manager went to the property to assess it along with our cleanup crew to start extracting water. While our technicians were working on cleaning up the mess rob was walking through the damages with the homeowner. At this time based on the extent of the damages she decided to go through insurance. Rob was able to help with the initial call to get that process started. All of the contents in the basement had to be inventoried and placed outside for the insurance carrier to look at. Once the basement was emptied, we were able to start prepping, removing wet flooring, cutting drywall and removing any wet insulation. After all the demo and removal was complete, we started a deep cleaning of the area. The final stage for this job was to set drying equipment so these homeowners can start restoring their life!
