Job completed for Faulty Valve Causes Flood in Bethel, CT

Completion date: January 15, 2023

Location: Bethel, CT

Why did the customer contact us?

A faulty shut off valve caused at least 6 inches of water to back up into their finished basement apartment. The customer needed an immediate response to get the water extracted and their personal items dried and moved into storage before they became unsalvageable.

Solutions provided:

A First Response crew of 5 were immediately dispatched to extract the water from the finished basement apartment. Some personal items were salvaged but many were a total loss due to the water damage. Once the water was extracted the crew started removing wet sheetrock from the walls and ceilings. It’s important to get air movement throughout the rooms to help keep the mold growth to a minimum. Four dehumidifiers and 6 fans were brought in to help with the drying process as well. Project Manager Rob helped the customer file a claim with their insurance company and the customer was very appreciative.
