Job completed for Leaking Water From Shower Pipe Upstairs Travels To Downstairs Garage in Hartsdale, NY

Completion date: January 23, 2023

Location: Hartsdale, NY

Why did the customer contact us?

A leaking shower pipe in the upstairs bathroom prompted this customer to call First Response for some professional advice and guidance to help them understand the process of water mitigation.

Solutions provided:

Rob the Senior Project Manager went to the customer’s home to see the damage the water had caused to the building materials and to draw up the free estimate and a protocol for the crew to follow for mitigating water damage. Even though the plank flooring was dry on the surface, Rob lifted a plank and showed the customer the water had seeped underneath. The customer had no idea the water had travelled that far from the initial leak. The crew was called in to follow the protocol written up and proceeded to remove the rest of the plank flooring. The removal of the floor revealed mold had already started growing under the flooring. The initial protocol written up was amended to include the mold mitigation. The water flowed through a light fixture in the garage which prompted Rob to have the crew remove the soaked sheetrock ceiling. The customer was very pleased with the professional manner the First Response crew expressed throughout this distressing time.
