Why did the customer contact us?

Keeping your gutters free from debris is extremely important especially when mother nature decides to unleash torrential downpours over your home. This customer had major water damage inside their home due to clogged gutters not allowing the water to drain properly away from the home.

Solutions provided:

“The water just kept coming and coming, it was relentless and unstoppable…” were the words this customer used when they called the First Response office to get an appointment for a free estimate to remediate the damage caused by the torrential downpours. Project Manager Rob and the Project Manager in training went to the home and met with the distraught customer. Some of the visible signs of the water damage they documented for the insurance company were floors bulging, cracks and paint bubbles on the ceilings and walls and warped doors that no longer closed properly. However, water damage is not always visible, that’s when a moisture reader and your nose come in handy. Rob used a Thermal Imaging Moisture Meter to point out other areas of water damage not visible to the eye. Most of the building materials in the home started to decay which caused a musty and stale odor; that’s where a nose comes in handy. The majority of the building materials had to be removed and discarded due to the extensive water damage and the beginning of mold growth. Remember to keep those gutters clear and clean because you never know when mother nature might drop torrents of water on your home.
