When this customer started smelling a musty smell, she knew she needed to call the experts in. A slow water leak from their water heater created just the right environment for mold to grow and spread. Mold spores can spread easily through the air and can create health problems if not cleaned and sanitized quickly and properly.

The First Response certified mold inspector met with this customer and systematically and thoroughly went over every room of her home to find the source of the musty smell. Our inspector found the source of the leak and a plumber was called in to fix the water heater. He pulled back the carpet and found mold growing underneath and also found it growing on the sheetrock. The customer called their insurance company to file a claim and the crew was brought in and directed to move the contents to one side of the room in order to roll up the moldy carpet and clean and sanitize the floor beneath. The moldy sheetrock was cut out to stop the spread and once those damaged items were removed, the musty smell started to dissipate.
