Job completed for Soot Damage From Furnace Puffback in Easton, CT

Completion date: February 3, 2023

Location: Easton, CT

Why did the customer contact us?

A furnace puffback caused soot and smoke to blow into the ductwork and disperse throughout the house. The soot and smoke permeate porous surfaces such as furniture, carpets and upholstery.

Solutions provided:

The smoke remediation crew was called in to clean all items in the home. They used dry cleaning soot sponges made of vulcanized natural rubber to wipe down the floors, ceilings and upholstery. The cleaning protocol for smoke and soot damage is to clean all surfaces as much as possible with the dry sponge because cleaning with liquids will make more of a mess and possibly stain the material. Once the soot was removed from the walls the crew used a wall cleaner and odor neutralizer to minimize the smoke odor in the home. The customer was very happy with the results!!
