Job completed for A Toilet Paper Blockage and A Curious Child Cause Extensive Damage in Fishkill, NY

Completion date: February 7, 2023

Location: Fishkill, NY

Why did the customer contact us?

A large wad of toilet paper resulted in a blockage in the drainage system. The customer’s curious child flushed the toilet multiple times which caused water to continuously flow onto the tile floor and into the adjacent playroom.

Solutions provided:

The customer called First Response in a panic after she realized her young son had flushed their clogged toilet multiple times which resulted in water going all over the downstairs. Project Manager Vinnie met the plumber at the home to evaluate the damage caused by the blockage and the multiple flushes. He determined that the tile, the sub floor and vanity in the bathroom had to be removed. The carpet in the playroom would have to be removed and discarded as well. The crew arrived at the jobsite shortly after Vinnie wrote up the remediation protocol. The remediation took 3 days to finish, and the crew taught the customer’s son to never flush a toilet a second time if the water doesn’t go down the first time.
