Job completed for Leaking Washing Machine Floods Laundry Room in North Salem, NY

Completion date: February 9, 2023

Location: North Salem, NY

Why did the customer contact us?

This customer called First Response because their washer pump failed to drain the water properly during the draining cycle and the water ended up all over the floor and soaking into the drywall.

Solutions provided:

This is a true yet unrealistic expectation: we expect our appliances to operate correctly 100% of the time. This customer was shocked to see the amount of water all over their floor from the defective washing machine pump. The water covered the floor and soaked into the sheetrock. The Project Manager on duty met with the customer and with the help of his Thermal Imager, showed her what areas needed to be remediated before mold growth could occur. The crew arrived and began removing the two tile floors and used their Sawzalls to make flood cuts into the sheetrock. Drying equipment was set up to dry the rest of the moisture within the walls. The customer served the crew homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk as a “Thank you” for their hard work and professional manner.
