Job completed for Exploding Water Heater Successfully Drenches Basement in Chappaqua, NY

Completion date: February 14, 2023

Location: Chappaqua, NY

Why did the customer contact us?

The water heater in the customer’s basement gave no warning signs it needed replacing. The age of the water heater should have alerted the customer that it was time for a replacement, but not everyone is aware that water heaters should be replaced every ten years.

Solutions provided:

The First Response Office Manager received the call from the customer and had the Project Manager Rob meet them within an hour. The insurance claim had been filed and the crew was on their way with the extraction truck to vacuum up the standing water. The next day, multiple crews were on the scene to remove the flooring, move contents into a storage pod and make flood cuts into the sheetrock in order to discard the saturated portions. The crew saw no evidence of mold growth on the flooring materials or the sheetrock, which was a relief to the customer. Although the customer was very anxious about the situation, he was quite happy with the work of the First Response crew.
